Rhinestone is an approximately 4-year-old tortoiseshell beauty with a gentle heart and a quiet soul. While she may be shy at first, beneath her cautious exterior is a sweet girl who simply needs time to feel safe.
We don’t know much about her life before coming into foster care, but based on her behavior, it’s possible she spent quite some time living as a stray. Because of that, loud noises and sudden changes can make her nervous. She would do best in a calm, quieter home with someone who understands that trust is earned through patience and kindness.
Once Rhinestone feels comfortable, her loving personality begins to shine. Watching her slowly come out of her shell is incredibly rewarding, and she forms meaningful bonds with the people who give her the time she needs.
If you’re looking for an instant lap cat, Rhinestone is not be the right fit. But if you believe that every cat deserves a chance and understand that the best relationships are sometimes built slowly, Rhinestone will reward your patience with quiet companionship and unwavering trust.

Rhinestone has been with us for several months now as a foster, and the cat I know today is very different from the cautious former stray who first came through my door.
She has made SO much progress learning that indoor life — and people — can actually be pretty great.
Rhinestone now comes to her door to greet me, rubs against it looking for attention, watches everything going on around her, and absolutely wants interaction. She loves feather toys, enjoys playing (especially when everyone else is supposed to be sleeping 😂), and has developed such a funny, distinct personality.
But Rhinestone is also very much Rhinestone.
She isn’t a cat who wants to be picked up and carried around, and she has opinions about how much petting is enough. She might happily accept a few pets and then give you a little nibble or swat to let you know, “Okay, that’s sufficient.” 😂 She’s a tortie with the tortitude to match, and honestly, that’s part of what makes her so lovable.
What she needs isn’t someone expecting an instant lap cat. She needs someone who understands cats, respects their boundaries, and will let the relationship develop at her pace.
Because once Rhinestone trusts you, she genuinely wants to be part of your life.
I think she could potentially live with another cat with a proper introduction. She spends plenty of time watching and interacting through barriers with the other cats and kittens here, and she likely had feline companions during her outdoor life. A calm, cat-savvy dog may also be possible, although she has not been fully tested with dogs.
Because she can be spicy and communicates with her paws and teeth, I am looking for an adult home without children and preferably someone who has experience with cats who have strong personalities.
Rhinestone is approximately 5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative.
She raised her babies. She survived outside. She learned how to trust people. She has done her part.
Now we just need to find the person who looks at this beautiful, slightly spicy little tortie and says:
“Yep. That’s my cat.” 💕
