Foster Application

In Need of foster care

Spook

Spook is a community cat who has been living outdoors and was recently trapped so she could finally receive veterinary care for concerning skin lesions on her face and body. After being examined samples were submitted for further testing/biopsy, and we are currently waiting for those results.

Rather than releasing her back outside immediately, her veterinarian recommended that Spook remain safely indoors while we wait for answers and determine what treatment she may need. That means Spook urgently needs a temporary foster who can give her a quiet, secure place to decompress.

Spook is accustomed to living outdoors and is understandably scared and unsure of people right now. She does not need someone to force interaction or turn her into a house cat. What she needs most is someone willing to give her a clean, calm space, provide her basic daily care, and allow her to exist without pressure while we figure out what comes next.

What Spook Needs in a Foster Home

  • Foster placement while her biopsy/testing results are pending and her medical plan is determined.
  • Indoor housing only — she cannot be released outside during this period.
  • A private bathroom, spare bedroom, or secure large-crate setup where she can feel safe. (Rooms without carpets are preferred)
  • Complete separation from resident pets until we know what is causing her skin lesions and she is medically cleared.
  • Someone comfortable caring for a scared community cat who may not want to be handled or touched.
  • A calm environment where she can decompress without being pushed to socialize.
  • Basic daily care including food, fresh water, litter-box maintenance, and monitoring how she is doing.
  • Ability to alert us if there are any changes in her eating, behavior, bathroom habits, or medical condition.
  • No financial responsibility for her medical care. We are handling Spook's veterinary care and can provide the supplies she needs.

Even if her foster can't pet her, cuddle her, or interact with her much at all, providing that quiet room for her right now would be an enormous help. 🖤🐈‍⬛
